Submit Data Request for Project ID,

Please use this form to submit a Data Request. Your request will be considered by the NSTA Data Compliance Team. An approved request will be issued to the responsible persons with the expectation that the matter should be resolved usually within 28 days of the NSTA request. The NSTA does not guarantee that the requested data will be made available.

The availability status of information types is indicated as:
  • Available: If a file is present with a corresponding Classification a circle icon will automatically appear in the Available column. Users may still submit a data request for additional information - please indicate in supporting comments whether the existing data should be replaced or whether additional data should be loaded.
  • Unavailable: There is no file present with the corresponding Classification Tag. An authorised user from the Data Reporting Group has set the Inventory to show that this data was acquired, but it cannot be made available to the NDR. Users may submit a request for this data to be reported but the likelihood of it being provided is reduced.
  • Not Acquired: There is no file present with the corresponding Classification Tag. An authorised user from the Data Reporting Group has set the Inventory to show that this data was not acquired. Users may submit a request for this data to be reported but the likelihood of it being provided is reduced.
Please include any comments or insights in the text box below that may support the NSTA in their review of your data request before clicking "Submit" to send your request to the NSTA.
Users may find it necessary to scroll to the bottom of the page to complete the procedure.

Please use the following form to submit your Completeness Report.

The availability status of information types may be indicated as:
  • Available: If a file is present with a corresponding Classification Tag, a circle icon will automatically appear in the Available column.
  • Unavailable: There is no file present with the corresponding Classification Tag. An authorised user from the Data Reporting Group has set the Inventory to show that this data was acquired, but it cannot be made available to the NDR. For assets that have transferred, the status may have been set by the company previously responsible for reporting licence information.
  • Not Acquired: An authorised user from the Data Reporting Group has set the Inventory to show that this data was not acquired. For assets that have transferred, the status may have been set by the company previously responsible for reporting licence information.
Authorised users can update the Inventory settings to mark information types as Unavailable or Not Acquired by checking the circle in the appropriate column.
Deselect allows the user to remove an unsaved selection.
When an authorised user marks an information type as Unavailable or Not Acquired, the form will prompt the user to add comments to explain their selection, and to check the 'Confirm' box before clicking 'Submit' to save changes to the Inventory.
Users may find it necessary to scroll to the bottom of the page to complete the procedure.

Data Discovery

All data is assigned to a unique Project ID, which is used to group and assign a spatial location to related data. The Project ID is a fixed length and is made up of four parts following the pattern CCCCYYYYtypeNNNN.

CCCC

An ID that shows either: the Company ID when project ID was created, or the Company ID from an existing NDR9 code. This is not necessarily the current owner of the Project ID.

YYYY

The year, e.g. 2020, that the project took place in. For example, the year the data was (re)-processed

type

The type of project, either: well - well description, seis - seis description, mhaz - mhaz description, rems - rems description, or inpt - inpt description

NNNN

Automatically assigned increment starting from 0001

The Projects IDs Table below can be filtered to discover Project IDs of interest. The Project ID metadata can be filtered by using the Filter... inputs above the column of interest. Some columns also have a dropdown menu that enables rows to be grouped by the metadata within that column.

Clicking on a Project ID of interest will update the map to show the location of the Project ID. Hovering on a Project ID row will show the geometry on the map. To add the Project ID to the map toggle the checkbox on.

The map is linked to the Project IDs table, clicking on a Quadrant polygon or Hexagon Bin will show relevant Project IDs.

Map Guide

A guide to using the map and linked Project IDs table and File IDs table.

Quadrants

When the Quadrants Layer is displayed clicking on a Quadrant will update the Project IDs table to show relevant Project IDs. Try clicking the Quadrant shown and the Project IDs table will update. The Quadrant will be highlighted to indicate that it has been selected. Hold Shift and click the Quadrant again to deselect it.

Next

Hexagon Bins

The hexagons provide a finer binning of the Project IDs and the colour indicates the density of Project IDs. The Legend shows what the colour code means. Try clicking the hexagon shown and Project IDs table will update to show the relevant Project ID(s). Depending on the map zoom level the Quadrants Layer will take priority over the Hex Bins. Hold Shift and click the Hex Bin again to deselect it.

Next

Project IDs Table

The Project IDs table is linked to the map. If you hover on a row in the table the outline of the Project ID will be shown on the map. Click on the row to update the map with the Project IDs location and select the checkbox to add the Project ID outline to the map.

Next

Files Table

The Files table is shown below the map. Once a Project ID of interest has been found, the files associated with the Project ID can be loaded to the Files Table. Select the checkbox for the Project ID of interest and click the View Files. The Files Table will update and the map will update to show the location of the Files. Note: some Project IDs do not have any files loaded.

Each project also has a current owner assigned to it. Once a Project ID has been selected or created, data can be uploaded to it.

Please note that most uploads to the UK NDR can be resummed if you experience an issue. If you frequently experience issues with uploading, or see error messages below, it could be due to your networking environment.

Upload Folder Structure:

Please use this page to submit data to the UK NDR via upload. To submit data on Physical Media, please review the guidance at Physical Media Submission Guide and then submit your request via the link provided.

Please specify the new Project ID using the inputs above. If the Project ID already exists the map will update with its location.

If the Project ID does not exist, a form will appear where you can define the required information to create a new Project ID.

For a Project ID that defines a well you will be able to lookup the well location.

For other Project ID types you will need to provide a project location that is defined as either a polygon or a point, specified as coordinate pairs.

Please use the form below to specify which well this Project ID is for:

2. Upload Data

Data has to be uploaded to a specific Project ID. Once the Project ID is selected relevant data can be selected for upload. To help ensure that intended data is selected you are required to either create a file in the selected folder that has a filename of the Project ID, or the name of the folder that you select should match the Project ID.

The table below will show the data that you have submitted to the UK NDR during .

Manage Completeness

All Missing Data Requests can be downloaded using the Download Missing Data Request CSV. This will output a CSV listing the Project IDs and C Tags that have been requested. If the requested C Tag can be fulfilled, please upload the respective data item to the Project ID. If a C Tag cannot be fulfilled then a completeness report should be submitted via Data Discovery for the Project ID.

Completeness Reports can be downloaded from the Project IDs shown. The list of Project IDs can be filtered, e.g. to find a specific OWID or NDR9. Multiple Project IDs can be selected by Ctrl clicking.

The Download Completeness Report button will export reports for the selected Project IDs. These will be organised by the Project ID type, e.g. seis or well, and two CSVs will be generated per Project ID type:

  • An items CSV will list all data items associated with the selected Project IDs.
  • A matrix CSV will produce a row per Project ID and columns for the C Tag(s) associated with the Project ID. Numerical entries indicate the number of files present for the C Tag. If a completeness report has been entered for a given Project ID C Tag it wil display either:
    • Not acquired
    • Unavailable

If you select a large number of Project IDs the export may take several minutes.

Your browser may show a message asking you to permit the NDR site to download multiple files.
